| Todays world relies on private citizens to help fill in the voids where governments and other public institutions fall short. Many atrocities and disasters occur daily in our own backyards but hover under the media radar. The United States is a proud nation and unfortunately that pride conceals the ugly social problems of abuse and poverty that silently surround us. We focus on natural disasters that we have no control over rather than the social disasters that threaten the lives of our citizens and the foundation and future of American society. A startling statistic that has yet to be picked up by the media is that the annual rate of child mortality as a result of abuse is equal to the number of US deaths in Iraq for the first 21 months of the war. Each year most citizens are solicited countless times by charities and organizations representing a multitude of causes. Most of us have to choose our favorite charities as our funds are limited. All of us would like to give more, help more but due to time and financial constraints simply can not. Understanding this, we have developed a way where you can help abused children without further cost to yourself. It is called " Shop 2 Help". Of course, if you wish to make a donation, you may do so through this site. Here is an opportunity to buy what you want and help abused children at the same time.
